Nodame, Permanent Nobara, Kakera Trailers Posted

The official website for the two live-action Nodame Cantabile Saishū Gakushō (Nodame Cantabile: The Final Movement) movies based on Tomoko Ninomiya's Nodame Cantabile romantic comedy manga has begun streaming two 30-second teaser trailers and one 94-second trailer for the second movie. The original manga, the live-action version, and a separate anime version all center around two music students (Hiroshi Tamaki, Juri Ueno) who find themselves on parallel paths in Japan and later Europe.

The first of the two films ranked at #2 in Japanese box offices when it opened on December 19. The second film will hit theaters
on April 17. The main manga ended in October 2009, but Kodansha's biweekly Kiss magazine launched a side story manga in the 24th issue in December. The final television anime series premiered in January.

The Showgate Channel on the Yahoo! Japan website is streaming a 49-second teaser trailer for the live-action film adaptation of Rieko Saibara's Permanent Nobara manga. In the story, Naoko (Miho Kanno) is a recent divorcee who takes her daughter back to her home village, where her mother (Mari Natsuki) runs the only hair salon in the area. Director Daihachi Yoshida had previously overseen the dark comedy film FUNUKE: Show Some Love, You Losers! Permanent Nobara will open in Japan on May 22.

The film distributor Third Window Films is streaming a 115-second trailer for Momoko Ando's live-action film Kakera: A Piece of Our Life adaptation of Erica Sakurazawa's Love Vibes yuri manga on the YouTube website. The film centers on Haru, a college student trapped in a dead-end relationship with her cheating boyfriend. One day she meets Riko, a prosthetics artisan, at a cafe, and the two become friends. However, it soon becomes apparent that Riko's feelings for Haru involve more than just friendship. The film debuted at the Raindance Film Festival in September, and will have a theatrical release in Japan on April 3, 2010. Third Window Films has licensed the movie for a UK release, with a theatrical release in March and a DVD release in June.
