Kodansha Streams Videos of Manga Artists Drawing (Updated) Dobutsunokuni

Kodansha Streams Videos of Manga Artists Drawing (Updated)
Masayuki Ishikawa to draw in live feed; Dōbutsu no Kuni, Mardock Scramble, Kaoru Mori's The Bride's Stories videos posted.

The Japanese publisher Kodansha has posted two videos of two manga artists at work on its YouTube channel, and it plans to stream a live feed of Masayuki Ishikawa (Moyashimon) drawing his newest manga.

In the first linked video, Konjiki no Gash!! (Zatch Bell) creator Makoto Raiku draws a page from his current fantasy series, Dōbutsu no Kuni (Animal Country). Raiku launched this manga in the inaugural issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine last September.

In the second linked video, artist Yoshitoki Ōima draws a page from his manga adaptation of Tow Ubukata's Mardock Scramble science-fiction novel series. Mardock Scramble: The First Compression, the first of three Mardock Scramble film adaptations of Ubukata's novels, will open in Japan this fall.

In early May, Kodansha will stream a live feed of Ishikawa drawing the ninth chapter of his Junketsu no Maria - Sorcière de gré, pucelle de force manga. This manga has been running in Kodansha's new magazine, good! Afternoon, since its November 2008 launch. The ninth chapter will appear in the 11th issue of good! Afternoon, which will ship on July 7. While Kodansha has not indicated if the live feed will be available worldwide, it did release the first issue of good! Afternoon online for free worldwide last year.

Update: The Comic Natalie website has posted six videos of Kaoru Mori (Emma, Shirley) drawing her latest manga, The Bride's Stories (Otoyome-Gatari). The manga runs in Enterbrain's Fellows! magazine. Thanks, bahamut623 and FeralKat.
