Toei's Marie & Gali, Kenji Muto's Cavity Express nominated.

Kūchū Buranko (Flying Trapeze), the television anime adaptation of three books by author Hideo Okuda, won the Pulcinella Award in the TV Series for Young Adults category at Cartoons on the Bay 2010 festival in Rapallo, Italy this month. Toei Animation and Yukio Kaizawa's Marie & Gali was nominated in the TV Series for Tween category, and Kenji Muto and Sugarless Factory's Cavity Express was nominated in the Pilot of TV Series category. Yoko Ikeda and Toei Animation's Thriller Restaurant also played in the TV Series for Kids category, but was not nominated.

Shinsuke Sato and Production I.G's Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror won the Nippon Cinema Award at the 10th Nippon Connection Japanese Film Festival, which was held in Frankfurt am Main, Germany from April 14 to 18. The award is selected by audience votes, and Oblivion Island
was among 16 other films — all live-action. The festival screening was the film's German premiere.
