|  Nausicaä Sells 20,000 to Top Weekly BD Chart1st Ghibli work to top BD chart; 1st work to top VHS, DVD, & BD charts.The marketing survey firm Oricon Communications reports that Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind Blu-ray Disc sold 20,000 copies to rank #1 on the Blu-ray sales chart for the July 12-18 week in Japan. The 1984 film is the first Ghibli work to rank #1 in weekly Blu-ray sales. It is also the first work from any studio to rank #1 in Japan on three of the major home video formats over the years: videocassette, DVD, and Blu-ray Disc. Walt Disney Japan released the film on the three formats in September 1997, November 2003, and July 2010, respectively. Source : ANN |
