Bandai Visual has revealed on Sunday that the Sunrise anime studio is producing Koisento, a "super science-fiction romantic comedy
" original video anime (OVA) with the staff behind the Freedom anime project.

The story is set in 2710 in the city of Nara, where the national capital has been relocated. For historical preservation and tourism, the country's cultural treasures — including entire buildings — have been moved en masse and assembled inside a humongous building. A second-year high school student named Shinichi (Kensho Ono) is visiting Nara on a field trip. No matter where he looks, there are deer everywhere. Shinichi is getting bored when suddenly, a deer (Kappei Yamaguchi) takes off with his bag, leading to a mad chase through the streets of Nara. In the middle of the chaos, Shinichi helps a mysterious, beautiful girl named Toto (Minako Kotobuki) who is being chased by unknown followers. Because of these odd circumstances, the two ended up in on a sight-seeing date throughout the locales of Nara.

Shuei Morita (Freedom, Kakurenbo) wrote and directed the project with character designs by Daisuke Sajiki (Kakurenbo). Another Kakurenbo veteran, Reiji Kitazato (Cool Devices, Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo, The Neighbor No. Thirteen), is composing the music with Kotobuki (K-ON!, Hatsukoi Limited) performing the theme song. Kōdai Satō (Hipira: The Little Vampire) is directing the computer graphics.

Bandai Visual will screen Koisento along with .hack//Quantum, Mazinkaizer SKL, and an unspecified work listed as "????" during its "Anime Fes. 'VS'" event. The event will travel to Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Kyoto, and Nagoya starting on November 27. The event's website also confirms that .hack//Quantum is not the previously announced full-CG anime project tied to the .hack//Link game.
