Here is my Version of Rendering, Pen Tool Rendering
Following I will be Giving a Tutorial on Rendering
Here are some Renders I make

Here We Go:

Step 1: Making Sure Your Setting are Like Mine


Step 2: Start your 1st Path Point at a Place which you are comfortable with


Step 3: After you got all the points like shown in the image Connect your End point to your start point.


Step 4: Right-Click and Click Make Selection


Step 5: Select Add Selection and press OK


Step 6: Like you noticed in the Circle I used to empathsis, there are spaces between the character's hair. So Path the as well.


Step 7: Instead this time You select subtract from selection.


Step 8: After all is subtracted from selection. Press Ctrl+C or Copy

Step 9: Make a new psd file the dimension (size) will be auto-set so all is cool, just make sure background is transparent.


Step 10: Well then Paste it in Ctrl+V, Save it in .PNG format so its transparent.

Wah La~ You have your Render



Tips : You might want to choose a Larger sized image to Render.
Why? Cause when to zoom in to do the details you wouldnt want to be seeing pixels.

I know it has been a while since you posted this tutorial, but is this along the lines of how it should end up?



It is not a full body shot of the character, but it is a start. I really want to start doing fan art. ^^ I'm still new to photoshop, and I have only been using the freeform select tool to outline things, but the pen tool is such a great help. :)

Hmm. Maybe you should zoom it and do the points. Very badly done ( Not trying to be mean ) but its what I meant. I don't want to sugar-coat. Maybe you had difficulties making the outlines of the character due to the color and stuff. Try harder next time, I am sure you can do it.
